Tom Nierop
Tom Nierop (1956) is chief editor of the quarterly magazine Accountant and Accountant.nl. After his geography study he worked from 1985 to 1990 as a researcher at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. In 1994 he completed his PhD with the dissertation Systems and Regions in Global Politics (John Wiley & Sons), about the development of global and regional patterns of international relations from 1950 to 1991.
From 1990 he worked as a freelance journalist for several national newspapers and magazines and as an editor and copywriter for several commercial and other organizations. During this period he was also chief editor of the magazines Port of Rotterdam and Account.
In november 2001 Tom Nierop became chief editor of ‘de Accountant’, magazine of the Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants (NIVRA), and in 2007 of the NIVRA-website Accountant.nl.
Since 2011 he is chief editor of the quarterly magazine Accountant and website Accountant.nl, both of the Royal Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants (NBA).
