Asset | Accounting & Finance is the financial study association of Tilburg University with currently more than 2000 members. By doing a committee at A&F you can become active and meet new people and develop yourself, both formally and informally. One of these committees is Faces Online, which is looking for new editors! During this article, Willem van der Meiden tells you more about what the committee is about, what subjects you can write on and what benefits Faces brings.
Faces is the committee that publishes Accounting and Finance related interviews, blogs and columns several times a month. By joining this committee you will stay up to date with the latest developments in the field and you will have the opportunity to interview professionals and take a look behind the scenes at companies where you might work later in life. Every week we have a meeting where we discuss the articles that are planned and brainstorm about future publications. In addition, we catch up on student life and occasionally go out for a committee-only activity or we all go to an Asset activity. All this makes Faces easy to combine with your studies.
The publications on our Faces Online website are diverse: from interviews with CEOs to columns in which you can give your own opinion on a subject of your choice. For example, a column on the loan system, bitcoin or fraud detection. In addition, we ask other members of Asset A&F to write about their experiences as a student or about activities they have organized with their committee, so you can quickly get to know the entire association.

During the college year, there are also regular informal activities for the active members where the atmosphere is always top notch. For example, should your membership at Faces be your first time starting a committee at Asset | Accounting & Finance, there are numerous introductory activities in September to get to know the other active members. Throughout the year there are several get-togethers and the socializing often continues into the late hours. Besides the many get-togethers, there are also other activities such as the annual soccer tournament & tennis tournament or an active members day where this year we went to Ghent.
By getting involved with things related to Finance and Accountancy, you not only enrich your knowledge and your CV, but also your network as you visit different companies and learn to make contact with individuals to interview. Furthermore, by becoming active you’ll be meeting many new and amazing people who will contribute to your time as a student.
